Donald Street Townhouses

Sit­ting with­in a her­itage con­text on a high­ly vis­i­ble cor­ner site, this col­lec­tion of three large town­hous­es appears as two, cre­at­ing a high yield for our long-time col­lab­o­rat­ing devel­op­er Fer­n­dale. The sub­tle rak­ing roof forms echo the tiled pitch­es on sur­round­ing hous­es, allow­ing the dense forms to sit com­fort­ably behind gen­er­ous gar­dens and with­in the old street scape.

A del­i­cate screened façade wraps the dynam­ic forms, cre­at­ing a veil of pri­va­cy to the street whilst allow­ing a dra­mat­ic play of light through­out the inte­ri­ors. A care­ful bal­ance of warmth and sophis­ti­ca­tion with a dis­tinct indi­vid­ual per­son­al­i­ty defines the inte­ri­or design. Each unit has its own unique floor plan, designed to max­imise its pas­sive oppor­tu­ni­ties to cre­ate a high­ly sus­tain­able medi­um den­si­ty devel­op­ment project.
